LINCOLN — Nebraska has issued a health alert for Harmful Algal Blooms (HABs), also known as toxic blue-green algae, at Maple Creek Recreation Area Lake in Colfax County.Health alerts have been extended for Maskenthine Reservoir in Stanton County and Rockford Lake in Gage County.

FULLERTON — A St. Edward man has been sentenced to at least 5 years in prison for charges in Nance County.Neal C. Reardon, 23, of St. Edward, was sentenced to a minimum of 5 years and a maximum of 10 years for attempted sexual assault and 2 years for enticement by electronic communication device.

Fullerton increases sub pay

FULLERTON — Substitute teachers will see a pay bump in Fullerton this year.The Fullerton Board of Education unanimously voted to increase substitute pay to $160 per day for the upcoming school year at their meeting on Monday. It had previously been $148 per day.
