Fullerton, Twin River students earn medals at Speech State

KEARNEY — Nance County was well-represented at the State Speech meet.On Saturday, Fullerton’s Everett Gleason and Lylla Sabata competed in the Class D Speech Competition. Sabata was the runner-up in Persuasive Speaking and finished fifth in Extemporaneous Speaking.

Water restrictions still in effect

FULLERTON — As the weather gets nicer, the city of Fullerton wants to remind residents that water restrictions are still in effect.“Just a reminder that watering restrictions are still in force this year,” April Sack, deputy clerk and ordinance official with the city of Fullerton, said.

Alda woman dies in Sunday accident

A 54-year-old Alda woman died on Sunday after her motorcycle struck a deer on Highway 22 north of Fullerton.Emergency responders were called to the scene at 6:30 p.m. on Sunday after a deer ran across the highway and struck the motorcycle that Penny Earl, 54, of Alda, was driving.
