Bernita was born June 1, 1945 in David City, to Keith and Leora (Fox) Howser. The Howser family moved to a farm west of St. Edward where she attended grade school at District 32 and graduated St. Edward High School in 1963. On Nov. 14, 1963, she was united in marriage to Earl Warner in Seward. They made their home on the family farm northwest of St. Edward. Bernita was a loving housewife and mother dedicated to raising their family and being Earl’s partner in life until his death in 1982. After, Bernita and her children moved to St. Edward, where Bernita held various jobs while continuing to be a loving mother raising and supporting her three children. After her children were grown, Bernita moved to Fullerton to be closer to family and was thrilled when grandchildren joined her family. Bernita was a regular spectator at their sporting events, musical concerts, and dance recitals, and always willing to step in to babysit her beloved grandchildren. She was a member of Fullerton Community Church. She was also an avid Husker fan, loved spending time in her garden planting flowers, and fishing. Most of all, she had a big heart and was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need.
Bernita married Rupert Nathan on Nov. 20, 2010 and they spent five happy years together before Rupert passed away March 31, 2016.
Bernita is preceded in death by her husbands, Earl and Rupert; her parents; sister, Roberta Warner; brother, Nolan Howser; and many family and friends in heaven.
