GENOA — Twin River Board of Education is moving forward with their search for their next superintendent.
The board has scheduled two special meetings in the coming days that will deal with the search. A special meeting is set for 5 p.m. on Thursday where one of the items on the agenda is the board will review and discuss applications for the superintendent position. A second meeting — set for 1 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 27 — lists superintendent interviews on the agenda. The final item on the Feb. 27 agenda is for the board to discuss and take any necessary action to approve negotiations with a superintendent candidate.
Interim Superintendent Chris Lecher is leaving the district at the end of his one-year contract. The board of education previously had been in negotiations with Lecher about becoming the permanent superintendent. Those negotiations broke down last month.
