Norbert Anthony Lesiak

Norbert Anthony Lesiak, 93, of Fullerton, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Thursday, Sept. 17, 2026, at his home.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 22, 2026, at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Fullerton, with Reverend Stan Schmit officiating. Burial will follow at St. Peter’s Catholic Church Cemetery with military honors provided by Fullerton American Legion Post #151, VFW Post #5759, and the United States Army Honor Guard. A rosary service will be held at 9 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 22, with visitation following until the time of service. Palmer-Santin Funeral Home is serving the family.

Norbert was born June 13, 1933, on the family farm in Nance County to Leo and Cecilia (Bialas) Lesiak. He attended Nance County District #23 for grade school and graduated from Fullerton High School in 1951. On June 17, 1953, Norbert enlisted in the United States Army and was stationed in Korea. He was honorably discharged on May 18, 1955. Upon returning home, he joined his father, Leo, in farming on the family farm and worked alongside his uncle, Edmund Lesiak, as a carpenter.

On June 24, 1961, Norbert was united in marriage to JoAnn Tworek at St. Mary’s Pilzo Catholic Church in rural Polk County. Together, they raised five children: Mark, Linda, Lori, Mary, and Julie.

Norbert loved refinishing furniture and enjoyed creating furniture pieces for his family. He was always willing to lend a helping hand to a neighbor and never passed up an opportunity to visit with others. Norbert loved watching football and enjoyed watching games with his family. He was a lifelong member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Fullerton and a past member of the Holy Name Society. He also served for many years on the East Newman Township Board.

He is survived by his wife, JoAnn, of 65 years; son, Mark (Jody) Lesiak of Clarks; daughters, Linda (Doug) Sextro of Butte, Lori Lesiak of Lincoln, Mary Lesiak of Kearney, and Julie Lesiak of Lincoln; grandchildren, Zachary, Kelsey, and Melissa (Brian Claymon) Sextro, and Trey (Zoey) Wiemer; great-grandchildren, William and Sabrina Wiemer; sisters, Marcy Zakrzewski of Loveland, Colo., and Janet Rinkol of Central City; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; parents-in-law, Louis and Stella (Klaus) Tworek; sisters, Evelyn (Clarence) Prososki and Margie (Richard) Shotkoski; brothers-in-law, Edwin Zakrzewski and Joe Rinkol; and sister-in-law, Dorothy (Eugene) Lassek.
