Titan season comes to close

LINDSAY — The Bulldog run game was too much to overcome on Friday.Titans wrapped the 2025 football campaign, falling to Humphrey-Lindsay 44-34.Twin River (3-5) fell behind 14-0 before finding the endzone twice in the second quarter.Colsten Rodriguez completed 16-of-24 pass attempts for 245 yards.

Fullerton falls to Burwell in Goldenrod Tourney opener

CENTRAL CITY — Nebraska Christian hosted part of the Goldenrod Conference Thursday night. First up was Fullerton against Burwell, and the winner would take on Nebraska Christian. Fullerton put up a good fight, but lost in four sets to Burwell 24-26, 25-18, 25-17, 25-13.

Titan season ends at District Final

CENTRAL CITY— The Titans season ended on Friday, two wins short of a bid to State in Hastings. Central City swept Twin River in two games. The Bison defeated the Titans 8-6 in game one and 16-5 in game two.Twin River hammered out 9 hits in game one.

Warriors medal at conference

FULLERTON — The Warriors had a strong showing at the Goldenrod Conference meet on Thursday.Five of the six Fullerton runners received medals at the meet held at Pawnee Hills Golf Course in Fullerton. Tate Wood and Jacob Maxfield earned medals in the boys’ race.

Titans fall to Dragons on road, 52-26

MADISON — The Titans did not have an answer for Madison senior Bodonn Sweeney on Friday.The Dragons’ senior quarterback rushed for 195 yards on 23 carries and 5 touchdowns in Madison’s 52-26 win over Twin River (3-4). He also completed 4-of-9 pass attempts for 158 yards and a touchdown.

GENOA — Twin River picked up a pair of home wins last week, defeating Dorchester on Thursday and Newman Grove/St. Edward on Monday.The Titans had to settle for a split against a pair of Crossroads Conference foes, Cross County and Dorchester.

Titans run preview at district course

By Rick HoltzNCJ Co-Owner McCOOL JUNCTION — Twin River got a preview of the D-4 District course last week when they ran at the McCool Junction Invite.The Titans ran at Camp Kateri, where the district meet will be held on Thursday. Twin River finished seventh overall.

Warriors get win at invite

LOUP CITY — The Warriors picked up a win over the weekend at the Loup City Invite.Fullerton defeated South Loup, 27-25, 19-25, 25-18, in a back-and-forth match. Class C-2 No. 10 Centura defeated Fullerton, 25-12, 25-11, and Ravena defeated Fullerton, 25-23, 25-17.

Defenders spoil Warrior Homecoming

FULLERTON — The Warriors knew they were in for a dog fight on Friday.Class D-2 No. 2 Archangels Catholic came to town looking to play spoiler for Fullerton’s homecoming. The Defenders (7-0) shutout the Warriors 46-0 with all the points coming in the first half.
