Titans win C-10 Sub-District

LINCOLN — Bring on Central City.Twin River defeated top-seeded Malcolm on Monday night to win the C-10 Sub-District at Sandhills Global Youth Complex in Lincoln. The Titans defense bent but did not break in their 14-13 championship game win.

Warrior season ends at district

COLUMBUS — Fullerton’s golf season ended on Monday at the C-2 golf district at Quail Run Golf Course in Columbus.The Warriors had to battle a wet course. Aubrey Thies finished with a 125. Lylla Sabata shot a 139.

Titans, Warriors run at Battle Creek

BATTLE CREEK — Fullerton and Twin River ran at the Battle Creek Invite on Friday.Elena Reimer was Fullerton’s top girl finisher, coming in at 46th overall with a time of 28:35.Kate Tasler of Laurel-Concord-Coleridge won the girls race with a time of 21:31.

Titans pick up win at invite

FORT CALHOUN — The Titans picked up a win over the weekend at the Fort Calhoun Invite.On Saturday, Twin River defeated West Point-Beemer, 29-27, 25-14, and dropped matches to Conestoga, 17-25, 25-17, 25-23, and C-2 No. 4 Guardian Angels Central Catholic, 25-9, 25-12.

Warriors drop close matches at home

FULLERTON — The Warriors dropped a pair of close matches at home on Thursday.Fullerton was defeated by Elba, 25-27, 25-20, 25-11, and Palmer, 25-20, 25-18. Elba defeated Palmer, 25-16, 10-25, 25-18.Georgia Bridger and Riley Thomas each had 5 kills against Elba.

Warriors spoil homecoming, top Eagles

CENTRAL CITY — Fullerton played spoiler for Nebraska Christian’s homecoming, cruising to a 44-18 win over the Eagles.Obviously, it is a different opponent every week,” Fullerton coach Brandon Siegel said.

Titans hold off Panthers, improve to .500

GENOA — The game was closer than the final score shows.Twin River scored with 2:35 remaining in the game to put a little cushion between them and Newman Grove/St. Edward. The Titans defeated the Panthers 36-28 to improve to 3-3 on the year.

Creighton men’s basketball game to be televised

LINCOLN — Nebraska Public Media will televise the Creighton men’s exhibition basketball game against Iowa State on Friday, Oct. 17.The game, which tips at 7:30 p.m. CT at the CHI Health Center in Omaha, will be broadcast throughout the state on Nebraska Public Media or at NebraskaPublicMedia.
