UNK sets game day changes ahead of Sept. 6 football opener

KEARNEY — Loper fans will notice several updates to the game day experience at the University of Nebraska at Kearney starting with the Sept. 6 home football opener against Chadron State.

Titan seniors finish season at Area 4 District

YORK — The Twin River Titans opened the 2025 Class B Area 4 District as the No. 5 seed and faced off against the No. 4 Seward Nebraska Door and Window Post 33 Seniors in the second game of the tournament on Friday.

Twin River tightens sports eligibility requirements

GENOA — If a student wants to compete for the Titans, they will have to keep their grades up.The Twin River Board of Education tightened academic eligibility for students wanting to compete in sports and activities in the coming year.

Fullerton, High Plains form co-op for junior high football

FULLERTON — There will be a junior high football team this year.The Fullerton Board of Education approved a plan on Wednesday to co-op with High Plains for the upcoming school year. The High Plains Board of Education approved the plan at their meeting on Monday.

All-star schedule announced

LINCOLN — The best athletes from the senior class of 2025 showcase their skills in the state’s yearly all-star games for softball, volleyball and basketball. Nebraska Public Media will bring high school sports fans live coverage on its WORLD television channel.

NCJ announces girls 2024-2025 All-Area teams

There are a lot of talented athletes in Nance County.Each week throughout the school year we chose two athletes (and sometimes more) and recognized them for their achievements that previous week. Sometimes the choices were obvious — breaking a school record or winning a state title.
