Titans drop CRC nail-biter to No. 7 Longhorns

YORK — One more possession could have changed everything.Class D-2 No. 7 Dorchester scored the go-ahead basket with 8.3 seconds remaining in the Crossroads Conference semifinal against Twin River at York University to advance with a 45-44 win.

Warriors finish as GRC runner-up

Titans fall to No. 4 Mustangs in quarterfinal

YORK — Twin River’s Paydon Rinkol drew the short straw on Monday.The Titan senior was tasked with providing defensive help on McCool Junction’s 6-foot-6, 295 pound big man, Mapieu Kouchinin.

Fullerton boys 7th at Neligh

NELIGH — Fullerton’s boys and girls wrestling teams traveled to Neligh last week for invitationals.The girls wrestled on Friday and the boys wrestled on Saturday. The boys team finished 7th overall out of 18 teams with 81.0 points. Central Valley took home the team title with 210.0 points.

Titans finish 14th at Madison Invite

MADISON — Twin River traveled to Madison on Friday for the Madison Invite.The Titans finished 14th overall with 40.0 points. West Point-Beemer took home the team title with 202.5 points, edging Gretna East by 1 point.Cade Kunkel was the 106-pound champion.

No. 10 Eagles top Warriors in Goldenrod Conference Tourney

CENTRAL CITY — Fullerton ran into a brick wall named Nebraska Christian on Tuesday.The Warriors struggled early against the Class D-1 No. 10 Eagles’ press defense. The offense was held without a field goal for nearly seven minutes.

Titans see loss as measuring stick

GENOA — Not many teams are going to outwork Twin River.The Titans like to run on offense and pressure you on defense. On Thursday, they ran into a team that could run with them.“This was a good test for us,” Twin River coach Matthew Quick said. “We have to build off this.

Warriors win GRC opener

FULLERTON — The Warriors are moving on in the Goldenrod Conference Tournament.Fullerton opened conference play on Monday with a 65-20 win over Palmer.The Warriors led 32-8 at halftime. Fullerton used the third quarter to put the game away, capitalizing on a 17-2 run in the quarter.
