Cougars red hot against Titans

GENOA — It was a tough day at the office for the Titans.Twin River dropped their third game in a row on Thursday, falling to Cross County 62-43. The Cougars exploded for 23 first quarter points to take control of the contest early.Cross County shot a blistering 51 percent from the field.

Warriors advance in Goldenrod play

FULLERTON — The Warriors capitalized on a career night from senior Jaci Maxfield and cruised to a 44-35 win over Newman Grove/St. Edward in the opening round of the Goldenrod Conference Tournament.“It was a good night — a career night — for her,” Fullerton coach Jason Maxfield said. “We needed it.

Warriors finish 7th, 8th at invites

Fullerton had a busy couple of days, traveling to Elm Creek on Friday and Dunning on Saturday.On Saturday at the Sandhills Thedford Knights Invite, Fullerton’s boys finished 8th overall with 63 points. Central Valley took home the team title with 198 points.

Titan wrestlers finish 10th at Bob Orsborn Classic at Cross County

STROMSBURG — Twin River traveled to Stromsburg on Saturday for the Bob Orsborn Classic at Cross County. The Titans finished 10th overall with 56.5 points. Crofton/Bloomfield took home the team title with 176.5 points, edging David City by just 6 points.Zach Held (120 pounds) finished second.

Titans learn CRC Tournament paths

YORK — The Titans have learned their pairings for their first conference basketball tournament since joining the Crossroads Conference this year.The Twin River girls’ team is the No. 7 seed, and they will take on No. 10 Meridian on Saturday, Jan. 25 at 5:30 p.m. at York University.

Warriors stay unbeaten at home

The Warriors are playing their best basketball of the year and are now winners in their last four games.Fullerton traveled to Central City on Thursday and defeated Nebraska Christian 61-41 and played host to Heartland on Friday, winning 42-36 to improve to 7-4 on the year.

Warriors drop pair to No. 9 Eagles, Huskies

The Warriors will look to regroup ahead of the Goldenrod Conference Tournament when they play Palmer on Thursday.The Warriors dropped a pair of games last week, falling to Class D-1 No. 9 Nebraska Christian, 54-31, and Heartland, 35-34.

SUMMERLAND — Fullerton wrestlers traveled to Summerland on Saturday for the Bobcat Invite.Fullerton finished 8th overall with 64.5 point. Pender took home the team title with 120.5 points, edging second place Guardian Angels Central Catholic by 1.5 points.Tate Wood finished 1st at 113 pounds.

GENOA — The Titans had a busy wrestling week.Twin River played host to Neligh-Oakdale and Central Valley in a triangular on Thursday. They traveled to Winside on Friday for an invite before finishing the week in David City at the Aquinas Invite.
