Warriors fall to No. 6 Spartans

LITCHFIELD — It was the tale of two halves. Fullerton scored early and built a 6 point lead heading into half time against Class D-1 No. 6 Ansley/Litchfield in the Warriors 49-44 loss to the Spartans on Thursday.

Titans fall to Tigers on the road

TEKAMAH — Motivated players are great when they are on your team, not so much when they are in the other uniform. Tekamah-Herman senior Preslee Hansen had plenty of motivation heading into Saturday’s contest with Twin River. A career milestone was within reach.

Warriors pick up first win of season

LITCHFIELD — Defense wins ball games. Fullerton proved the old adage correct on Thursday night on their way to a 34-20 road win over Ansley/Litchfield. The Warrior defense stymied the Spartans, holding the host team scoreless for just under 15 minutes spanning three quarters.

Warriors finish 7th at Osceola Invite

OSCEOLA — Fullerton finished 7th out of 22 teams on Saturday at the Osceola Invite. Brett Bridger won the 190-pound weight class. The senior went 5-0 on the day, picking up 5 pins. Bridger pinned Neligh-Oakdale’s Chase Thomas in 1:23 to complete his undefeated day.

Titans get balanced win over Tigers

TEKAMAH —Twin River kept the ball moving on Saturday as the Titans used a well-balanced attack to take down Tekamah-Herman, 64-53. The Titans had four players score in double-figures, lightening the load from any one scorer.

Football breakdowns released

The NSAA announced officially announced the 2024-2025 football classifications on Monday. Twin River will remain in class D1, but will not be playoff eligible. The Titans could have moved back up to 11-man football, but opted to stay at 8-man.

Held first at North Bend Invite

NORTH BEND — Twin River competed at the North Bend Invite on Saturday at North Bend Central High School. The Titans finished 12th overall at the invite. Zachary Held went 2-0 on the day, picking up a pair of pins, to win the 113-pound weight class.

Thomas second at Wood River

WOOD RIVER — Fullerton girls competed in the Wood River Invite on Saturday. Riley Thomas went 3-1 on the day with three pins. She finished second in the 140 pound weight class. Fullerton finished 14th overall out of 18 team with 22 points.

Begin purchasing 2024 permits now

During the busy holiday season, don’t forget to purchase Nebraska Game and Parks Commission permits for the upcoming year. The 2024 annual hunt (small game), fishing, fur harvest and state park entry permits are now available online, at district offices and parks near you.

Warriors still searching for first win

FULLERTON — Another minute and it could have been a different outcome. Fullerton is still searching for their first win of the season, though they nearly found it on Thursday in their matchup with Central Valley.
