Warriors open season with 39-30 win over Longhorns

FULLERTON — The Warriors opened the basketball season with an opening night win on Thursday. Fullerton (1-0) used a big second quarter and limited Burwell (0-1) to just one field goal in the third quarter on their way to a 39-30 win at home.

Warriors look to be playing for titles in 2024

FULLERTON — Hopes are high for Fullerton this year. Coming off a 10-16 campaign last season, first-year head coach Will Wagner said that goal heading into the season is to be a .500 or better team this year. But improving on last year’s record is not the only goal.

Titans look to keep improving each game

GENOA — Twin River has gone through the fire in recent seasons. Two years ago the team lost 20 games and never got into the win column. Last season the Titans finished won 6 games, but never won two in a row. Led by five seniors, the Titans looks to take that next step this season.

Warriors eye return to State wrestling meet

FULLERTON — Fullerton has plans for mid-February. The state wrestling meet is still months away, but the Warriors look to qualify several wrestlers for the event. Seniors Brett Bridger and Jerrod Land both advanced to State last season and Bridger returned home with a medal.

GENOA — Twin River has high hopes for the wrestling season. Coach Kalin Koch said that this year’s group features nine guys with a range of experience. The team is just a week into practice and are already forming good habits on the mat.

FULLERTON — It’s not a rebuilding season so much as building on a foundation that has already been poured. Fullerton girls opens the season at home against Burwell on Thursday, Nov. 30. Coach Jason Maxfield said that he wants to see steady improvement all season long.

Warriors see conference recognition

FULLERTON — Five members of the Fullerton volleyball team were recognized by the Goldenrod Athletic Conference when All-Conference teams were announced last week. Senior McKenna Plumbtree was named to the Goldenrod All-Conference First Team. She led the team with 486 kills and 345 digs.
