Basketball fans may notice rule changes

Beginning this year, high school basketball teams will shoot two free throws for common fouls when in the “bonus.” This change to Rule 4-8-1 eliminates the one-and-one scenario and sets new foul limits each quarter for awarding the bonus free throw.

Pilakowski earns East Husker Conference honors

GENOA — Twin River senior Chloe Pilakowski received an East Husker All-Conference honorable mention. The conference announced All-Conference teams on Tuesday. Pilakowski was the only Titan to receive conference honors. She led the team with 226 digs, 173 kills and 42 blocks this season.

Fullerton dissolves baseball co-op

FULLERTON — To stay or to go. That was the question the Fullerton School Board had to ask and answer. The board voted 4-1 on Monday to dissolve the baseball co-op the district was a part of with Central City and Centura. Board member David Ciancio voted against the measure. Superintendent Dr.

Wrestlers learn post season paths

The path to Lincoln is set. The Nebraska School Activities Association released district and sub-district assignments on Monday. Boys Assignment Fullerton and Twin River have been assigned to District D-3 and will compete Feb. 9-10 at Pleasanton.

Jason Evers inducted into BVU Hall of Fame

STORM LAKE, Iowa — Buena Vista University held its annual Athletics Hall of Fame banquet on Friday, Oct. 13, and among the four individuals inducted was 1996 graduate Jason Evers. The Class of 2023 was also recognized during halftime of BVU’s 17-10 Homecoming victory over Luther College on Oct. 14.

Warriors named to All-District teams

FULLERTON — Football season is over, but the honors are still rolling in. Four members of the Warriors were selected to the D2-5 All-District first team. Two players were selected to the second team and two players earned honorable mentions.

Titans earn East Husker Conference recognition

GENOA — The season ended sooner than they would have liked, but the Twin River softball team is seeing end of season honors start to roll in. Four members of the Titans softball team were named to the East Husker All-Conference First Team.
