First issuance of summer EBT benefits going out to families

LINCOLN — The Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) will issue its first round of Summer Electronic Benefit Transfer (EBT) benefits today.Summer EBT is available to families with eligible school-age children to help them buy groceries during the summer months.

LINCOLN — This May, the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) is celebrating Community Action Month, honoring the agencies throughout the state that create economic opportunity, strengthen local communities, and help families find pathways to prosperity.
To recognize the importance of planning for future education opportunities, Gov. Jim Pillen has proclaimed May 29 as National 529 Day in Nebraska. COLUMBUS — The Columbus man accused of killing a Fullerton woman has accepted a plea deal.Jack Reeg, 26, of Columbus, pled no contest to one count of second-degree murder and one count of use of a firearm to commit a felony.
