Warriors turn attention to subdistrict

CENTRAL CITY — Fullerton dropped a five-set thriller to Archangels Catholic on Thursday in the opening round of the Goldenrod Conference Tournament.The Warriors jumped out to a fast start, taking the first two sets 25-10, 26-24.

Warriors finish as runner-up at ALC Invite

LOUP CITY — Fullerton finished second over the weekend at the Arcadia-Loup City Invite.Fullerton opened the day with a 25-17, 25-11 win over Gibbon.Riley Thomas, Lainie Ziemba and Jaci Maxfield all had 5 kills for the Warriors. Ziemba and Maxfield both had 12 digs.

BARTLETT — The Warriors played well but had to settle for a split last week in a triangular with Chambers / Wheeler Central and Class D-2 No. 8 Stuart.Fullerton defeated Chambers / Wheeler Central 25-18, 25-13.Laine Ziemba led the way with 7 kills, 4 digs, 3 assists, 2 aces and 1 block.

CEDAR RAPIDS —The Warriors were a perfect 3-0 on Saturday at the Riverside Invite, defeating Osmond, Riverside and Chambers/Wheeler Central.Fullerton opened the day with a three-set marathon match against Osmond.

Warriors fall on road

STROMSBURG — It was not the season-opener they were looking for, but Fullerton hung around with Cross County most of the night.Fullerton opened the season with a three-set loss to Cross County on Thursday, falling 26-24, 25-8, 25-21. Despite the scoreboard, the match was competitive.
