Jeep trails open, support post prom

GENOA — Calling all Jeep owners. An off-road adventure awaits.A private Jeep trail is opening for one day only. Go on an off-road adventure and help support Twin River’s Post Prom.The trails, located at 36155 N. 495th St., in Genoa, will open to the public on Saturday, Nov. 8 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Twin River celebrates final beam of phase one

Twin River students and staff gathered outside the school Friday morning to watch the final beam of phase one of the school construction project lifted into place. Students and staff had the opportunity to sign the beam on Thursday and Friday.

TITAN HOMECOMING

Twin River celebrated Homecoming last week, capping the week’s festivities with the Homecoming Parade on Friday. Students held signs, rode floats and cheered on the Titans to a victory Friday night against Heartland.

Twin River changing messaging services

GENOA — Twin River Schools is moving to a new messaging service.The Twin River Board of Education approved the change at their meeting on Monday. The district will switch over to Apptegy Rooms later this year.

GENOA — Despite the cranes and concrete outside, it’s business as usual in the classroom for Twin River students.Superintendent Brandi Bartels said the $39.9 million school building project remains on schedule and under budget.

Twin River amends eligibility requirements

GENOA— Twin River loosened eligibility requirements one month after tightening them.Twin River Superintendent said that after the board of education voted to change the academic requirements for sports and activities in July, the district received feedback from the community.

GENOA — It’s a message going around the state and on Sunday it was heard in Nance County.Nebraska Coaches Association Executive Director Darin Boysen is going around the state reminding parents of their role as parents in education-based athletics. GENOA — If a student wants to compete for the Titans, they will have to keep their grades up.The Twin River Board of Education tightened academic eligibility for students wanting to compete in sports and activities in the coming year.

Schools OK cell phone policies

Fullerton and Twin River students will have to put their cell phones away while at school.The Fullerton Board of Education approved changes to the district’s cell phone policy at their meeting last week.
