Fullerton girls rally past Twin River, 40-36

GENOA — Fullerton never gave up. Down seven points coming out of halftime, Fullerton’s girls basketball team had to battle back just to have a shot at a win. A strong second half let them keep their win streak alive.

Football districts announced

The NSAA announced football districts assignments on Monday. Fullerton will play in the D2-3 district along with Howells-Dodge, Humphrey St. Francis, Nebraska Christian, Osceola and Riverside.

County sees 3 wresting champs

ELGIN — Fullerton and Twin River competed over the weekend at the Elgin-Pope John Invite. Fullerton finished 8th out of 14 teams on Saturday. Twin River finished 10th at the competition. Neither school had wrestlers face off against each other at the event.

Titans fall to Tigers in dual, 42-18

BRAINARD — Twin River lost as a team, but the Titans won three of the six contested matches against East Butler. Zach Held pinned Trenton Van Veldhuizen in 2:29. Adam Schroder pinned Kale Glasshoff in 3:14. Shane Smith pinned Chase Bohac in 1:18. East Butler def.

Titans fall to Tigers on the road

TEKAMAH — Motivated players are great when they are on your team, not so much when they are in the other uniform. Tekamah-Herman senior Preslee Hansen had plenty of motivation heading into Saturday’s contest with Twin River. A career milestone was within reach.

Titans get balanced win over Tigers

TEKAMAH —Twin River kept the ball moving on Saturday as the Titans used a well-balanced attack to take down Tekamah-Herman, 64-53. The Titans had four players score in double-figures, lightening the load from any one scorer.

Football breakdowns released

The NSAA announced officially announced the 2024-2025 football classifications on Monday. Twin River will remain in class D1, but will not be playoff eligible. The Titans could have moved back up to 11-man football, but opted to stay at 8-man.

Held first at North Bend Invite

NORTH BEND — Twin River competed at the North Bend Invite on Saturday at North Bend Central High School. The Titans finished 12th overall at the invite. Zachary Held went 2-0 on the day, picking up a pair of pins, to win the 113-pound weight class.

Titans fall to Vikings in wrestling dual

COLUMBUS — The final score can be deceiving. Zachary Held Adam Schroder Twin River traveled to Columbus on Thursday to take on Lakeview in a wrestling dual. The Vikings defeated the Titans 72-9, but Lakeview received 60 points from forfeited weight classes.
