Apply for archaeological scholarship

Time is running out on being able to apply for the Nebraska Archaeological Scholarship, June 15 is the deadline.The Nebraska Archaeological Society is pleased to announce two scholarships available to college archaeology students.

Deputies crash underage drinking party

RURAL NANCE COUNTY — Police interrupted an underage drinking party at an Airbrb in southwestern Nance County.Deputies were dispatched to a property near the intersection of 140th Avenue and Pleasant Valley Road. A caller complained about loud music and several minors consuming alcohol at a party.

Busy summer coming to library

FULLERTON — It’s going to be a busy summer at the Fullerton Public Library.The Early Literacy Program meets every Tuesday from 1011 a.m. in June and July. The theme for the elementary reading program is “Adventure Begins at Your Library.

Summer fun coming to day camp

An exciting, super, fun-filled week of Day Camp is being planned at Whispering Cedars Baptist Camp. All children K – 6th (this coming fall) are invited to come to camp for five whole days of total adventure. Each child will want be at camp every day June 17-21.

Music Boosters present check

The Music Boosters donated $20,000 to the school to purchase band uniforms. The Music Boosters appreciates all the support from the community. Music students are currently looking for supporters. Contact any music student for information.

A good neighbor, Mike Santin

Mike Santin was recently presented with a certificate naming him an Admiral in the Great Navy of the State of Nebraska. He was presented with the honor by Nebraska State Senator Loren Lippincott. Santin, 62, attended Fullerton High School and now works as a farmer.

Foundation awards 2 scholarships

The Nance County Foundation awarded two scholarships to area students.Tessa Cherry of Genoa was awarded the Henry & Elizabeth Reitz Memorial Scholarship. She is the daughter of Michael and Darlene Cherry.
