TeamMates planning Chili Cook-Off

FULLERTON — Do you think you have the best chili in Fullerton? Put your recipe to the test.Fullerton TeamMates have announced they are holding the inaugural Chili Cook-Off on Friday, Dec. 5. The fundraiser will kick off at 5 p.m. at the Eagles Club.

A 2020 Fullerton grad is returning to the boxing ring on Saturday, Nov. 1.Isaac Gleason will take on Johnny Delacruz at SPARTA 107 at Blue Federal Credit Union Arena, Loveland, Colo. He said he will be the 17th fight on a card that features boxing, mixed martial arts and bare-knuckle boxing.

Trade ‘Toys for Treats’ after Halloween

FULLERTON — Fullerton Dental Care will once again be participating in the “Toys for Treats” Halloween candy trade-in program. The event is sponsored by United Concordia Dental insurance.Beginning Monday, Nov. 3, the first 15 children up to age 12, may trade in candy for a $10 Amazon gift card.

SNAP benefits paused in November due to federal shutdown

LINCOLN — The Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS), at the direction of the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), Food and Nutrition Service (FNS), will pause Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits on October 29 due to the federal government shutdown.

Sabata selected for All-State Band

FULLERTON — Lylla Sabata has been selected for the All-State Band.Each year, more than 2,000 musicians audition for the band. The All-State Band is made up of students from classes A-D and is one of the highest musical honors attainable in Nebraska.
