UNK expands online options for undergraduate students

KEARNEY – After spending her freshman year on campus at the University of Nebraska at Kearney, Karlie Wies made a decision that would reshape her college experience.The Petersburg native returned to her hometown and transitioned to fully online classes.

Steak dinner returns for 6th year

On Sunday, April 26, Mt Calvary Lutheran Church will be presenting its 6th annual steak dinner featuring a complete assortment of accompaniments to the community.The Nance County Event Center, located at the fairgrounds, will host the event.

FULLERTON — Nine teams were on hand on Saturday to help the Chapter AG PEO raise money for scholarships.Teams competed in Trivia Night, completing 10 rounds of 10 questions.

FULLERTON — The classrooms will be cooler in the elementary wing, but it comes with a big price tag.The Fullerton Schools Board of Education approved a $625,000 contract with Facility Advocates at their meeting on Monday.

Early primary voting begins

FULLERTON — Early voting has begun ahead of the May 12 primary election.Monday marked the first day that Nebraska residents could vote in person at their county courthouses.

Chamber kickoff is Saturday

FULLERTON — The Fullerton Area Chamber of Commerce is gearing-up for another big year.Residents are invited to the inaugural chamber kickoff event Saturday at the Eagles Club. Stop by from 4 to 7 p.m. to learn about the Chamber, enjoy a sloppy joe meal and visit with local vendors.

Creighton, Nebraska volleyball Match on TV

LINCOLN — Nebraska Public Media will bring sports fans statewide coverage of two college women’s volleyball spring matches in April.Up first is a contest between intrastate rivals the Huskers and the Bluejays. “Creighton Volleyball: Nebraska vs. Creighton” airs at 7 p.m.

Correction

Last week we had some incorrect information in our State speech article. Fullerton’s last state medalist was 12 years ago and the last time they had two students medal at State was 2011. Lylla Sabata was not the first double medalist in school history.The Nance County Journal regrets the error.
