Titans continue to see growth

DAVID CITY — The Titans were in action over the weekend at the Aquinas Invitational in David City. Twin River finished 11th with 40.5 team points. Aquinas edgedout Milford for the team title. Twin River coach Kalin Koch said that he seen a lot of growth from his team this season.

HENDERSON — It was a game of streaks. Fullerton’s fourth quarter rally fell just short on Friday, falling 26-24 to Heartland. The Warriors held the Huskies scoreless for the entire second quarter, but could not hold on to their lead. Heartland responded to open the second half with a 10-0 run.

Warriors finish 5th at Summerland Invitational

EWING — The Warrior wrestling team finished fifth out of 15 teams on Saturday at the Summerland Bobcats Invite in Ewing. Fullerton finished with 93 points. Ravenna took home the team title with 177 points. Wisner-Pilger (136 points) finished second. Summerland (110 points) finished third.

Snow may have been falling this week, but softballs were flying for a Twin River freshman. Jlee Van Driel recently attended T.H.E. Camp, put on by the University of Texas softball program. She was at the camp with members of her club softball team, the Hotshots.

Huskies slow down Warriors in 2nd half

HENDERSON — Heartland overcame a nine point deficit in the second half to send Fullerton home with a 64-53 loss on Friday. The Huskies outscored the Warriors 36-16 in the second half as they clawed their way back into the game.

Thomas goes 5-1 at Norm Manstedt Invite

COLUMBUS — Fullerton’s two girls were back on the wrestling mat last week, competing in the Norm Manstedt Invite at Central Community College in Columbus on Thursday. Riley Thomas finished the day 5-1, but ended her day with a pair of medical forfeits.

Short-handed Titans fall to Dragons

MADISON — They just could not overcome a slow start. Madison opened the game on Saturday outscoring Twin River 12-1 in the first quarter. The short-handed Titans were playing their first game without senior Delaney Reeg, who broke her wrist on Tuesday in a 50-24 loss to Central City.

Titans come up short on the road

MADISON —The opportunities were there. The Titans just were unable to capitalize. Twin River dropped a close road game to Madison, falling 52-48. The Titans battled back from an 8 point fourth quarter deficit, cutting it to a two possession game with less than a minute left in regulation.

COLUMBUS — The Titans used a lock-down pressure defense on Saturday to snap a 5-game losing streak and finish 3rd at the 42nd annual Columbus Holiday Basketball Tournament.
