NELIGH — After nearly two weeks off because of winter weather and snow, Fullerton’s two girl wrestlers were back on the mat and in action at the Neligh-Oakdale Invite on Friday.

Fullerton completed its first step toward a Goldenrod Conference Title on Wednesday, easily getting by St. Edward 64-43 at Humphrey St. Francis. The Warriors next obstacle is the Flyers, who defeated Burwell 69-29 on Wednesday.

Yrkoski breaks Titan blocks record

GENOA — Twin River saw a school record fall on Tuesday night.
Freshman Grace Yrkoski broke the single-game record for blocks in a game with 7 blocks in Twin Rivers 54-47 loss to Aquinas. Yrkoski grabbed 13 rebounds and finished with 7 points in her first start of the year.

HUMPHREY — Winter weather may have delayed it a few days, but area basketball teams are back on the hardwood ready to compete for a Goldenrod Conference title.
Fullerton’s girls team opened conference play on Tuesday, taking on Elba at Burwell . The winner advanced to take on Class D-2 No. 9 St.

The Nebraska School Activities Association released spring sports classifications last week.
Twin River will compete as Class C for boys track and girls track. Fullerton will compete as Class D for boys track and girls track.
