COLUMBUS — Columbus Community Hospital’s maternal child health department is joining hospitals across the state in a new initiative aimed at saving the lives of postpartum patients.

Corn Board to meet

LINCOLN — The Nebraska Corn Board will hold its next meeting on Tuesday, Aug. 19, 2025, at the Bayer Water Utilization Center (76268 Hwy 47) in Gothenburg.The meeting is open to the public, providing the opportunity for public comment. The board will conduct regular board business.

The Nebraska State Fair will proudly kick off the America 250 Celebration by hosting the U.S. Army’s premier acoustic group, the Six-String Soldiers, on Veterans Day.The Six-String Soldiers formed in 2015 after their rendition of “Here Comes the Sun” by The Beatles went viral on Facebook.

Older Nebraskans Day filled with celebration

The Nebraska State Fair invites guests of all ages to Older Nebraskans Day on Monday, Aug. 25, for a full day of fun, wellness, and community, highlighted by a nostalgic concert by The Righteous Brothers at 2 p.m. inside the Heartland Events Center.
