Fullerton, Nance County and the rest of central Nebraska spent Tuesday digging-out following Monday’s snowfall. The forecast called for nearly a foot of snow in places, but less than 3 inches of snow fell. The wind and blowing snow was more of a problem.

Christmas storm keeps troopers busy

LINCOLN — Troopers with the Nebraska State Patrol responded to nearly 150 weather-related incidents on Nebraska roadways on Christmas Day. Troopers responded to 28 crashes and performed 117 motorist assists as much of the state experienced a white Christmas.

Museum group schedules January annual meeting

Merrick County Historical Museum has set the afternoon of Jan. 14, 2024, for their annual meeting. Members and guests will be featured in “Heritage Treasures.” This will be a show and tell event in which all who bring an item shares its history in five minutes or less.

UNK announces dean’s list for 2023 fall semester

KEARNEY — The University of Nebraska at Kearney announced students who earned a place on the dean’s list for the fall 2023 semester. Students who are on the dean’s list must have completed 12 credit hours or more of classes with a 3.5 grade-point average or better on a 4.0 scale. Students earn a 4.

CSC honors graduates

CHADRON — Chadron State College’s Winter Commencement took place Dec. 15 in the Chicoine Center. Jovan Mays, a 2010 CSC graduate, was Chadron State College’s Winter Commencement speaker. One-hundred and six candidates for bachelor’s degrees were honored.
