Fullerton, Twin River students earn medals at Speech State

KEARNEY — Nance County was well-represented at the State Speech meet.On Saturday, Fullerton’s Everett Gleason and Lylla Sabata competed in the Class D Speech Competition. Sabata was the runner-up in Persuasive Speaking and finished fifth in Extemporaneous Speaking.

Fullerton sending Sabata, Gleason to State Speech

SPALDING — Fullerton has two members of the speech team heading for State.Fullerton participated in the D1-4 district at Riverside in Spalding.Lylla Sabata was the district champion in Persuasive Speaking and Extemporaneous Speaking. Everett Gleason finished third in Persuasive Speaking.

Show choir takes 2nd at ‘Clash of the Titans’

COUNCIL BLUFFS, Iowa — Fullerton’s show choir — 8th and Broadway — received second place in the 1A division at Lewis Central’s Clash of the Titans over the weekend in Council Bluffs, Iowa.

FULLERTON — Fullerton Public Schools has their guy.The Fullerton Board of Education approved the superintendent contract with Joél Ruybalid at their meeting on Monday. Ruybalid was one of three finalists that interviewed with the district on Feb. 3.

FULLERTON — You can be the proud owner of a piece of Fullerton sports history.The district announced on Monday that they are holding a surplus uniform sale at the Jan. 27 and 30 basketball games. Uniforms from a variety of decades and sports will be available.

FULLERTON — Fullerton’s superintendent search continues.The Fullerton Board of Education met on Wednesday to interview one finalist for their superintendent opening. After nearly an hour in closed session, the board had made their decision.
