Titans rained out at Fillmore Central

GENEVA — Twin River had a pair of games rained out on Saturday at the Fillmore Central Invite — but before returning home, the Titans evened their record at 4-4 on the year.Twin River picked up a 9-4 win over Southern Diller-Odell Saturday morning.

Titans open season with split, runner-up finish

DAVID CITY —A1-1 tie turned into a runaway when the Twin River Titans scored 12 runs in the bottom of the third and posted the threeinning 13-1 win over Guardian Angels Central Catholic in David City on Thursday.

Titans set sights on October run

GENOA — It’s time to put the rest of the state on notice. The Titans are coming.Twin River opens the softball season on Thursday with aspirations of playing deep into October.“The chemistry is really strong,” Twin River coach Renae Van Driel said.

No. 6 Titans upset in District Final

GENOA — The Titans saw their season come to an abrupt end on Friday, falling two wins short of a State berth.No. 6 Twin River (25-10) were upset in the C-6 District Final by the No. 11 seed, Aquinas Catholic, dropping game one 11-10 and falling in game two 22-8.

GENOA — Two more win. The Titans need just two more wins to punch their tickets to State.Twin River advanced to Friday’s District Final where they will play host to Aquinas Catholic. The district final is a best of three series with a trip to State on the line.

Titans go 2-1 last week

GENOA — The Class C No. 6 Titans went 2-1 last week, picking up a pair of wins over Pierce on Tuesday, while falling to St. Paul on the road on Thursday.Twin River earned a 9-1 win and a 16-5 win over Pierce to complete the sweep.In the first game, the Titans jumped out to a quick 4-0 lead.

No. 5 Titans look to rebound after losses

Twin River dropped a pair of games last week to some good competition.The Class C No. 5 Titans traveled to Hastings on Tuesday to take on Class C No. 1 St. Cecilia. The Hawkettes cruised to a 15-3 win in 3 innings.Twin River (20-5) was held to just 3 hits in the game.

No. 4 Titans win 20th game of season

GENOA — Twin River picked up their 20th win of the season, defeating Yutan-Mead 9-1 at home on Monday.The Class C No. 4 Titans jumped out to an early 1-0 lead in the first inning and added 3 more runs in the third inning.
