Titan golfers looking for improvement

GENOA — Twin River returns a veteran team to the golf course this year.Coach Matthew Quick said that they will rely on seniors Corbin Rodriguez, Ava Martinez, and Jocelyn Robertson as well as a pair of juniors who played in the past in Chance Swantek and Gavin Vanek.

Titan baseball swinging for fences

GENOA — Twin River returns an experienced squad to the baseball diamond for the new season.First-year coach Jaysen Melcher said that they have 14 guys out this year, with seven players having seen playtime in previous seasons. He said this year’s squad also has six freshmen competing for innings.

Area hoop stars receive conference honors

The post season honors continue to roll in.GOLDENROD CONFERENCE Fullerton’s Kane Wetovick was named to the all-conference first team. Terrick Gonsior and Jakob Supik were named to the all-conference second team. Jacob Maxfield was named an all-conference honorable mention.

Warriors’ season ends at sub-district

GREELEY— The Warriors ran into a brick wall last week.Fullerton saw its season come to an end in the D1-7 Sub-District semifinal game against No. 7 Central Valley, falling 58-26.The Warriors kept the game close early — tying the game at 5-all with 2:40 remaining in the opening quarter.

Titans fall in season finale

GENOA — The Titans hit a speed bump to finish the regular season.Twin River dropped their season finale on Friday, falling 79-41 to Class D-2 No. 2 Archangels Catholic.The Defenders shot a red-hot 52 percent from the field, including hitting 7-of-18 attempts from behind the arc.

Titans fall to Wildcats to open sub-district

MURDOCK — Playing short-handed on Monday, Twin River saw their season end, falling to Cedar Bluffs 41-36 in the opening round of the C2-2 sub-district at Elmwood-Murdock.The Titans fourth quarter comeback bid fell short as the Wildcats were able to hold on.
