The story I am going to tell you happened several years ago—back when my husband and I were still working at our respective jobs. My hubby and I rarely got a day off together, but when we did, we usually “ran away” from home. And so, on the day our story occurred, we headed out of town.

Journal Rewind

Ten years ago Sept. 11, 2013 More than 30 homes participated in Fullerton’s City Wide Garage Sales. Fullerton football defeated Osceola 58-40 to improve to 2-0 on the year. Twenty years ago Sept. 10, 2003 Harvest crews were getting ready to hit the field in Fullerton and around Nance County.

Births

Kyle and Heidi Kutschkau of Columbus are proud to announce the new addition to their family. Cheydon Dennis was born Aug. 12, 2023. He weighed 8 pounds, 3 ounces and was 20.5 inches long. He is welcomed home by his older sister, Jayleigh, and brother, Hunter.

Card Shower

Ten years ago Sept. 4, 2013 Fullerton schools were making final preparations for the Red Wagon Parade. The football team would play Shelton on Sept. 20. The Red Cross Bloodmobile fell short of its quota in Fullerton. They collected 63 units of blood.

Blood drive a success

Fullerton Bloodmobile was held on August 22 at the Events Center. We had an awesome turnout on a scorching day, netting 69 units, just 5 short of our goal of 74. Isabel Norman was a first time donor.
