HISTORY LOST

FULLERTON — A piece of Fullerton history was lost last week.The former building that housed the Fullerton First United Methodist Church was demolished on Wednesday. The building coming down is the latest chapter in the story of the church that dates back to 1879.

Ballots mailed to voters

FULLERTON — Ballots for the Aug. 12 special election were mailed to Fullerton voters on Monday.Voters are being asked two questions in the special election:• Whether or not to continue the citywide Economic Development Program for another 20 years.• Whether or not to continue to collect a 0.

Nance County Fair kicks off this week

FULLERTON — Fullerton will be the 4-H capitol of Nance County this week as the Nance County Fair begins.The fairgrounds have already seen the first action with 4-H’ers completing the Fashion Show and Clothing Construction interviews on Tuesday.

Council OKs dog for library

FULLERTON — The Fullerton Public Library is adding a new service that you don’t normally see at smaller libraries.Fletch, a 2-year-old golden lab, will begin making appearances at the library after Labor Day. The Fullerton City Council approved the program at their meeting last week.
